Behaviour management
Practical strategies to reduce distress and support safer care at home
What we do
We support older adults experiencing changes in behaviour, mood, cognition, or emotional regulation that are impacting their wellbeing, safety, or ability to engage with care at home.
Our clinicians work collaboratively with clients, families, and carers to understand behaviours of concern and provide practical, evidence-based strategies and education that can be implemented in everyday care.
Why it matters
- Reduces day-to-day stress and emotional exhaustion for carers.
- Provides clear, practical strategies carers can use in the moment.
- Support safer routines and reduces escalation or crisis situations.
- Improves cooperation with personal care, medical appointments and daily tasks.
- Helps carers feel more confident, supported, and less alone in their role.

Behaviours we can support:
Wandering
Paranoia
Agitation
Social withdrawal
Sleep disturbances
Verbal or physical aggression
Anxiety or emotional distress
Changes in routine or engagement
Our assessment process
- Engagement with the client and those involved in their care to identify behaviours of concern.
- On-site observation by a practitioner to assess and identify behaviours within the home and care environment.
- Development of a written report with practical behavior support and escalation strategies.
- Implementation session with the clinician and key stakeholders to review and apply the recommended strategies.
