Psychology

Taking the first step towards better emotional wellbeing can be incredibly empowering, particularly as we age. At Generation Care, our experienced psychologists provide a safe and supportive space for older adults to explore their thoughts and feelings, learn valuable coping strategies, and gain the tools they need to improve their quality of life. Our experienced team of psychologists is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective psychological support for older adults, working collaboratively with individuals, their families, and their wider care teams. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive emotionally and psychologically, regardless of age or circumstances.
Generation Care provides a wide range of evidence-based psychological services to support older adults facing a variety of emotional and mental health challenges. Our psychologists take the time to understand specific needs, goals, and preferences, creating a personalised intervention plan that addresses their unique challenges and aspirations.
Talk Therapy for Isolation and Loneliness: Many older adults experience feelings of isolation and loneliness. Our talk therapy sessions provide a safe and supportive space to discuss these feelings, explore coping strategies, and build stronger connections. We focus on helping you improve your social connections and find ways to engage with the community.

Educational Workshops for Aged Care Staff: In addition to our services for individuals, we offer specialized educational workshops for aged care staff. These workshops aim to increase awareness and understanding of common mental health challenges experienced by older adults and equip staff with the skills and knowledge to better support the residents in their care. Topics covered include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, the transition to residential care, and other common mental health concerns of older adults.

We believe in the power of a collaborative approach to care. We work closely with individuals, their families, and the wider care team (including GPs and other allied health professionals) to ensure that our services are seamlessly integrated into your overall care plan. We recognize that a holistic, comprehensive approach is critical to achieving positive outcomes.
